Built from Experience, Focused on Others

I began my career in academia, fascinated by how ultrasound could move beyond hospitals and into everyday life. That curiosity grew into a belief that technology developed in research environments should have a far greater presence in the world around us. It eventually led me to found Novosound, taking a university project and building it into a deep tech business that worked across healthcare, industry, and consumer electronics.

Over the years, I learned what it truly means to move from research to reality. Building a company from the ground up meant navigating investment rounds, developing products, and forming partnerships with global organisations, all while building a team that could deliver on an ambitious vision. It was a period of growth, both professionally and personally, and taught me as much about people and leadership as it did about technology.

After leading the company through expansion and establishing a strong senior leadership team, I reached a natural point to step back. The business had a clear direction, capable hands, and the right structure to thrive without me at the helm. That transition gave me the time and perspective to consider what makes deep tech ventures work, where founders often struggle, and how experience can be shared more effectively with those taking their first steps on a similar path.

From that reflection came Different Circle, a consultancy built to support academic founders, researchers, and organisations working in deep tech, wearables, health, and energy. Its purpose is simple: to help ambitious people and teams turn their ideas into lasting impact through honest, practical guidance rooted in real experience.

Different Circle exists to help others make that same transition, from research to company, from founder to leader. It is guided by a belief that innovation only matters when it works in the real world, and that founders need clarity, not complexity, to get there. The consultancy stands for practical support, straightforward communication, and the confidence to grow something strong enough to stand on its own.
